Dreanna & JJ Belting

First off- I want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to Katie Raivala for helping me shoot. Eight weeks ago I broke my ankle and, being as generous of a person she is, she contacted me asking if she could help me in any way. Well, she sure helped me out. It was such an amazing relief to have her shooting along side with me- running around the entire getting the shots I'd normally get but were just so difficult with crutches. Thank YOU! I even learned a few extra shots by shooting with her! When my foot heals I want to do some more second shooting :)

On to the wedding:

Dreanna and JJ are a super sweet couple. I've known JJ since I was in 7th grade- he was a volunteer junior high leader at Church. What I've known ever since then is his character- his ability to be "chill"- his smile- and how much he cares about others and builds people up. He is the type of person you love being around because you can have fun but in a positive way. I wasn't quite sure what to think of JJ (he was kinda crazy) getting married, I wondered what this "Dreanna" would be like. After our initial meeting at Brueggers Bagels I heard a bit of their story. It was a relief to know JJ had found someone good- great- perfect for him.
It may have been a gray overcast cool and windy day, but it couldn't stop Dreanna and JJ's love from shining bright. The way they gazed into each others eyes, the smirk that spread across their faces and turned into a full fledged smile- it's inspiring. Seeing a couple so in love is just inspiring, not just as a photographer- but really as human beings. We as humans were designed to love each other, and they have found THE love of their life. I am so blessed to be capturing these moments- Thanks Dreanna and JJ! ~Enjoy~

Jennine & Nate are such a cool couple. From the day I first met them until the end of the wedding reception they were always so chill, so relaxed, so just "enjoying the moment". The way their smile lit up when they saw each other, the funny faces they always made, it was just radiant how much love they have for each other.

The Longest Day

For all my photographer friends out there- Here's a repost you may find interesting. I think the concept here "24 hours to write, direct, edit, and produce and original film" seems like a really crazy but fun experience- that I want to try! Let's see how this unfolds, and perhaps get some TCPPA members and Pictage'rs to join in.

It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s finally here. The premiere episode of the first online reality TV show for and about professional photographers, “The Longest Day,” this year’s buzz-building videos series for WPPI 2009.

The premise is simple: get 24 of the hottest professional photographers in the country (and Canada), bring them all to southern California armed only with the knowledge that they would be split into two teams and given an assignment to complete in just 24 hours. Once they arrive, they find out their assignment is to write, shoot, and edit an original short film about photography, AND an original PSA about the respective charity for which they are playing: ThirstRelief and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

Over a series of ten episodes, you’ll see the drama; the comedy; and the battle for the best video and PSA as voted on by YOU. That’s right, as we lead up to WPPI (February 14-19) we’ll air the episodes. Then, about a week before, we’ll show the final short films and PSAs by both teams. You will then have an opportunity to vote for the videos you like the best. Thanks to our sponsors, the winning team will win $3,000 for their charity. The other charity will earn $2,000. (In this episode you’ll hear me mention $1,000 and $500 as the respective prizes. The ante got upped since the taping of this show).
